Humans Nearby
Let's slow down,
and just be. Together.
A place for real human connection, presence and belonging.
- No performing.
- No pretending.
- No need to have it all figured out.
Just people, being people.
A quiet observation
Maybe what we are missing isn't another thing.
We have more ways to connect than ever before. We can reach anyone, anywhere, at any time. And yet, somewhere between busy calendars, endless scrolling, constant notifications and the pressure to keep moving, something quietly gets lost.
We spend so much of life experiencing things through screens, through schedules, through roles and through expectations. But life was never meant to be experienced only that way.
We need people. We need play. We need conversations that aren't rushed. We need music, art, food, nature, laughter and silence. We need moments that don't have to lead anywhere. We need places where we don't have to perform.
And sometimes, we simply need to feel a little more alive.
Humans Nearby exists to make room for some of that.
Time to pause.
Space to feel.
People to share life with.
The simple joy of being somewhere, with someone - and actually being there.
A little more human.
Humans Nearby creates experiences that bring people closer to themselves, to one another and to the world around them.
Sometimes that might be an evening of music. Sometimes art, food, nature, play or conversation. Sometimes it might be something we haven't imagined yet. We're interested in experiences that feel real, meaningful and alive - where people can slow down, connect, explore, feel, and simply be.
We don't want to build another place people have to perform in. We want strangers to become familiar. Conversations to go a little deeper. Creativity to have room. Silence to stop feeling awkward. Belonging to stop needing to be earned.
A little like a modern village. A place to take root.
Why Humans Nearby
We are surrounded by people. But how often do we really feel with people?
We are busy. Connected. Entertained. Informed. Always moving from one thing to the next. We have become very good at staying occupied. Perhaps less good at simply being.
Somewhere along the way, many of us have started experiencing life through notifications, feeds, work calendars, social expectations and carefully constructed versions of ourselves. We meet people, but don't always connect. We spend time together, but don't always feel present. We can have full lives that somehow still feel a little empty.
This isn't just about loneliness. It is about something larger - the loss of presence, of slowness, of shared experience, of simply being human together.
Humans need humans. We need laughter. Conversation. Silence. Touch. Shared meals. Stories. Play. Creativity. Nature. A familiar face. A stranger who becomes a friend. A place where nobody needs anything from us.
Because perhaps a good life isn't only about doing more, achieving more or becoming more. Perhaps it is also about experiencing more of being alive. That is what we want to make room for - not by telling people how to live, not by promising to fix something, not by creating another thing they need to keep up with. Simply by creating opportunities to pause, experience and connect. Human to human.
For People
Come as you are.
- You don't need to be interesting.
- You don't need to be social.
- You don't need to know anyone.
- You don't need to arrive with a plan.
- Just come. Meet people. Make something. Listen. Laugh. Talk. Be quiet. Try something new. Or do absolutely nothing for a while.
Humans Nearby creates experiences where connection can happen naturally - without the pressure to network, perform or fit in.
Sometimes you come for the experience. And leave with a little more. A new face. A new thought. A story. A laugh. A feeling.
Maybe even a friend.
How it works
We bring people together around experiences that give connection a chance to happen.
Music. Art. Food. Nature. Conversation. Play. Making. Exploring. Sometimes there is a little structure. Sometimes there isn't. We create the setting and the invitation - the humans do the rest.
What you might find here
Small experiences where people come together simply to be.
For Organisations
Your people are human before they are employees.
Meaningful connection doesn't happen because we put people in a room and call it a team-building activity. It happens when people experience something together - when they laugh, play, create, listen, solve something, see each other beyond their roles, and feel comfortable enough to be themselves.
Work takes up a large part of our lives - and the people we work with become a large part of our everyday world.
Yet work can easily reduce people to roles, responsibilities, targets and outcomes. Humans Nearby creates experiences that make room for the people behind those roles - for connection, for play, for conversations that don't happen in meetings, for moments people remember. Because stronger relationships aren't built only through work. They are built through shared experiences.
How
We work with organisations to design experiences around their people, their context, and what they want to create together. Depending on the need, that could mean creating opportunities to:
Pause
Step away from the everyday and create room to breathe, reflect and reset.
Play
Loosen up, have fun, think differently and experience each other outside the usual work setting.
Connect
Create moments that help people know each other beyond their job titles.
Grow
Use experiences as a starting point for deeper conversations around collaboration and leadership.
Celebrate
Because sometimes people don't need another intervention. They just need to celebrate being together.
What we create
Because every organisation and every group of people is different. We don't bring a fixed package. We create something that fits.
Not another offsite.A different kind of experience.
Thoughtfully designed. Human-led. Memorable because it felt real.
The Humans Nearby Way
We aren't here to teach people how to live. We aren't here to tell people what they should feel, how they should behave, or what a meaningful life should look like. We don't have all the answers.
We are simply curious about what happens when people have more opportunities to slow down, experience something together, and be a little more present. Because sometimes, you don't need another lesson. You need an experience.
Humans Nearby isn't trying to teach people how to live.
It's trying to create experiences where we can actually live a little.
The human behind Humans Nearby
Hi, I'm Anamika.
I've always been curious about people - how we connect, what makes us open up, what makes us feel at home, and what makes life feel alive.
My own journey has been a bit of a wandering one. I've moved through art and design, entrepreneurship, travel, coaching, facilitation, wellness, learning & development, behavioural experiences and communities - and somewhere along the way, spirituality and a deeper curiosity about simply being.
I never really saw these as separate things. They were all different ways of understanding people, life and myself.
Humans Nearby grew from that curiosity - and perhaps from a wish to create the kind of spaces and experiences I've found myself looking for too.
Spaces where we can slow down, meet people, make things, talk, laugh, explore, be quiet, and simply experience life together.
I'm still figuring it out myself.
And maybe that's the point.
Humans Nearby is something I'm creating as I live, learn, wander, meet people, make things, change my mind and discover what it means to feel more alive.
So I don't really think of myself as a founder. I'm simply the person behind Humans Nearby - creating the setting and the invitation.
The humans do the rest.- Anamika
